WHY KELLY BHUTAN

A local partner, from first message to last day

We are based in Bhutan, so the people planning your trip are the same people who run it. That means honest advice about what is worth your time, hotels we have actually inspected, and someone reachable while you are on the road.

Tiger’s Nest

Paro Taktsang — Bhutan’s most photographed monastery, set on a cliff high above the valley floor.

Phobjikha Valley

A wide glacial valley, and the winter home of the black-necked cranes.

Frequently asked questions

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most popular seasons — clear skies, comfortable daytime temperatures and the biggest festivals. Winter is quiet and cold but very clear; summer brings monsoon rain and green valleys. Tell us what matters most to you and we will suggest the right window.

There are direct flights into Paro from Dhaka and Kolkata. Travellers from West Bengal often come overland instead, crossing at Phuentsholing from Jaigaon near Siliguri. We will advise which route suits your dates and budget, and build it into your itinerary.

Requirements differ by nationality, and Bhutan’s rules are updated from time to time. We confirm exactly what you need for your passport and handle the permit process for you as part of the booking. [Kelly Bhutan to confirm current requirements per nationality before launch.]

The SDF is a per-night levy set by the Government of Bhutan, and the rate depends on your nationality. Because the rate is reviewed periodically, we confirm the exact current amount in writing with your quotation rather than publishing a figure here. [Kelly Bhutan to confirm current SDF rates before launch.]

Regional packages include meals, 3–4 star hotel accommodation, airport pickup and drop, transport for all sightseeing, and a professional guide. Airfare, visa and SDF fees, and entry fees are not included. International packages include accommodation, transport, a professional guide, entry fees and SDF/visa support, but not airfare.

Yes — every package we offer is a starting point. Length, hotels, pace and destinations can all be changed. Many of our travellers end up with something built from scratch around their dates and interests.
